A Sad Time In Our Lives

Robert Fenneman

In September of 1958 we were happy to learn that we were expecting our first child. Several times as the months went on we had a scare that labor was beginning. Each time the Dr. would warn that we might lose our child before the next day. Our little girl was born on April 15, 1959. She was put in an incubator and died two days later. Times were so different back then and we were never allowed to hold her. She was a beautiful tiny girl with lots of black hair. We never even got a hospital picture of her. We felt this needed to be in the story of our lives. Paula Jean was named after Joyce’s Mother Pauline. She is buried in Lynwood cemetery in Clarksville next to her Grandparents Clarence and Edna Fenneman.
