What was your first big trip?

Robert Fenneman

Our first big family trip we took our sister-in - law Sandy and her family ,who were staying in Clarksville at the time ,to meet Darrell in Chicago at the navel base. He joined us and we went on to Ohio leaving them at Sandy’s parents. We were driving a station wagon with four adults and six kids. Luckily there were no seat belt rules back then and some of the kids could climb around in the back. After leaving them in Ohio we went on to Washington DC and toured the aerospace museum and the Smithsonian, visited the memorials and monuments. We did get into the capital but weren’t able to get in the White House. Our motel was near the airport and we listened to planes all night long. The following day we went to the Gettysburg battle fields. It was a very interesting and educational trip.
