Our Daughter Rhonda

Robert Fenneman

Rhonda Sue was born on July 1, 1960 in the old Catholic hospital in Waverly Iowa. She weighed six pounds and four ounces. The day she was born I was cultivating corn. Joyce and I had a plan that she would stand by the barn and wave a towel if she needed me to come home and head for the hospital. Her story is that she waved the towel for a long time while I just kept on making rounds in the field . She was born quite soon after we arrived at the hospital. Rhonda was a happy baby and easy to take care of. She was a beautiful baby with lots of curls and always got a lot of attention when we were out and about. She did decide to run away once and took a little bag, walked down to the little bridge by the creek, sat on the railing for awhile and came back home. We have always been proud of her and the way she has lived her life. She started her job right out of high school and has been at the bank for 43 years. My Mom and Joyce’s Mom both thought she ran the bank way back when and by now I think she could. We get told quite often by people around town that she is a real help to them! She is a great Mom to Mandy Brouwer and Anthony Marshall and Grandma to Justine Grummitt, Kyler Grummitt, MaKenna Brouwer, Jesse Brouwer, Kendall Pint and Klaire Marshall.
