Mike was born September 6, 1962 at the hospital in Charles City, Iowa. Our Dr. was Dr. McKean. When we decided it was time to go to the hospital he was at a church supper. He loved to drive his cars as fast as they would go. When we got to the hospital he was waiting patiently for us. We were debating whether to name our new son Jeffery or Michael. After Bob left the hospital I decided to name him Jeffery. When Bob returned the next day I found out he had told everyone Michael. So, we have a Michael Robert. He, of course, was the cutest little boy you’ve ever seen. Mike was always one with his own ideas and could be very stubborn about things. Mike was never the least bit interested in the animals or farming. One winter when Mike was a little older I had back problems and had to stay in bed for months . He did a very good job of keeping things going for me although I knew he hated it. Computers were just being introduced into the school system when he was in high school. He and several friends happily helped set them up. He has been hooked on them ever since. When Natalie inherited her Father’s company he took over and has done a wonderful job of getting it back into being a great business. He is a great father to Andy and Ellie!!
